Blogworld

I feel as if I've been absent from the blog world for a few weeks. I've been on the Internet but I just haven't posted on our blog. What is everyone doing this week? Are you traveling for Christmas? Oh, I don't know if you have seen the website before but there's a great place where you can paste a picture of yourself on the body of an elf and then they dance around to music. Okay I probably didn't make any sense at all. There is a website where you upload a picture of yourself and it puts the head of the picture on the body of a little elf. Then you select a dance you like (I personally think the disco very funny) and the elf dances to the music. Its hilarious! The address is www.elfyourself.com . Hope you enjoy!

Decided to update~

Hello Everyone-
Sorry we have not posted lately. We have been kind of busy...... schoolwork, cooking/baking , outings. You know! But yesterday we did a Christmas tradition! Gingerbread men : ) Well that went over OK...... all walker did was put more flour, and more flour in his dough (which we really needed) because it was REALLY sticky! It was quit a cleanup. But it was fun, and yummy and that's what counts! We should have some pictures of that and the Christmas tree decorating up here , soon! Today I am going Christmas shopping with my mom! I love to shop~ Especially a Christmas time, and when all the decorations are out!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good morning! (i know its supposed to be "goodnight", but its morning)

"Mere Christianity"

What Bible Study you use? What book of the Bible is your favorite? What are you reading now? Do use a Bible Study book?

I'm reading "Mere Christianity" for my Bible study book. It's by C. S. Lewis and it is very good and informative. He teaches the base of theology and the basis of Christianity. He talks about things that you never hear anywhere else. He was once a atheist but turned to the Lord and went on to write many books about Christianity. He is a deep thinker and discusses things that you don't hear anywhere else. In the book he covers Christian Marriage, Forgiveness, The Great Sin (pride) which I thought was a great chapter, Charity, Hope, Faith, Tithing and many other topics as well. Some people don't like his book "The Chronicles of Narnia" because of his using a Witch as a symbol of evil. And because of that one disagreement they decide that they do not support the man at all. Every one can have an opinion but I must say I do not agree with them. After reading "Mere Christianity" I see what an intelligent Christian man C. S. Lewis was. He has many wonderful insights and pieces of wisdom in this book. I highly recommend it.

Good Books...

I love Jane Austin and all her books. My favorite is Pride and Prejudice but I also love Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet and loved it too. Off subject but did you know how long it took them to style Kate Winslet's hair? Two hours. Anyway I think that I've seen all the versions of Pride and Prejudice that they've made. Greer Garson, Jennifer Ehle, Elizabeth Garvie, and Keira Knightly. My favorite is the Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth one. I think that costumes are beautiful in that version. I thought that they left out to much in the one made in 2005. Although I thought that Rosamond Parks and Keira Knightly made a very good Jane and Lizzy.
Caroline received this version made in the 80's. It was made for television so it has the look of a soap opera. The costumes and sets are good in this version though.
Lizzy and Darcy with a larger picture of Lizzy and Jane. I love the bonnets!:)

I Love Lucy

I Love Lucy Starring Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez is America's best loved comedy. Madcap, red-headed Lucy Ricardo lives with her band leading husband Ricky in a New York apartment own by their best friends Fred and Ethel Mertz. Lucy is continually getting into trouble. She gets stuck in freezers, glues beards on her face that won't come off, gets stuck babysitting for two impossible twins, gets handcuffed to Ricky, steals John Wayne's footprints, and ends up doing a comedy act in the middle of a Ballet. Lucy going through Ricky procedures to help his hair grow back when he thinks he's getting bald.
Lucy in her most famous role selling Vitametavegimin.

Merry Christmas!

One of the biggest things about the Christmas season for me is planning cousin productions plays. Its something small that I can do with my spare time that I really enjoy. I think about it all year round. You should see me, a week after the play I send McKenzie an e-mail entitled "Next Play". I just really love doing them. I love to plan! I think about script, costumes, music, and progrmas from January till the next December comes around. It might seem a little strange but its something that I personally love to do. Here's a few pictures of all my cousins that partake in each Christmas play. I just realized that this does not include the two little cousins! Oh well:) This is a picture from last year so we're a year younger there!
McKenzie (15), Me (14), Matthew (13), Caroline (11), Madeline (9), Faith (9), Baldwin (8), Mariah (6), James (5), Hudson (5), not pictured Malachi (2), Walker (2).
If your wondering why the boys look so peculiar its because the have "war paint" on (washable markers) on the faces. They love cowboys, indians, Davy Crocket, and Daniel Boone so they dress up like indians any chance they get! Its so cute to see them have such a good time together!:)

I hope you enjoyed the pictures! I'll steal some off McKenzie's blog so I'll have some resent pictures of them!:)

Cancer Free!

I know Caroline already posted about my Grandma but I had to do it as well!:) She is cancer free!!! The doctors were amazed when the scan showed that the spot that was fairly large was smaller. They said it only happens twice every year. She has had so many people praying for her. Thank-you so much! Our prayers have been answered! What a wonderful Christmas Present! Thank-you Lord!

~Our Christmas Miracle~

We have been posting about our grandmother and the spot on her lung, she also had a spot in her back and under her breastbone. She found out a few days ago that the spot on her back is gout and the spot under her breastbone was from her lung spot. The docter had said if the spot on her lung had gotten smaller it wasn't really anything. Today she had her scan and it is smaller! We have received our Christmas miracle!!!

PRAISE THE LORD! Thank you all for your prayers, they have been heard!

We love you Grandma!!!!

Our Thanksgiving...

For Thanksgiving this year we went to visit my cousins. Travelling with seven people, and especially three little boys, can take a while. Packing and loading the car with seven peoples things is not the most enjoyable task either. But on Thursday morning before we headed down to my cousins we loaded the car with all the bags, suitcases, and food. We took Broccoli and Rice Casserole, Sweet Potato Casserole, and Cranberry Nut Bread which thankfully did not get smashed!:) When we ended the two and a half hour drive which really is not that much we were very glad. Two and a half hours is not that long but gets old sitting next to a active five-year-old who every five minutes asks "Are We There Yet?!" or "Are we almost there?". It can get old.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner outside in our cousins yard which is so gorgeous with all its pecan trees and big fields across the street. After we ate my cousins McKenzie (15), Madeline (9), Caroline, and I went on a walk through the woods and fields and took lots of pictures and videos for our Pride and Prejudice "trailer". :) We headed back and road my cousins horses as it was getting dark. She has three horses, Abasha, Candy, and Mr. Darcy but we only rode Candy. I like to ride her because she's very comfortable!:)

We then changed into our Pajamas and had dessert. Then went to their room and watched "Sense and Sensibility" and had tea sitting around Caroline's suitcase which had been turned into a small "table" with a blanket draped over for sitting around and sipping our tea and watching Elinor and Marianne.

We had a really good Thanksgiving and I hope that all of you had one as well!
Layne~
