Don't be so Vanilla

I've wanted to make a cake like this for a while now. Vanilla, chocolate, vanilla, chocolate cake. Lydia, my mom, and I took a cake decorating class last summer and we have more tools to work with now. The teacher wasn't very good, he always ended the class thirty minutes early and didn't teach us a whole lot but the kit that went along with the class was very helpful though. So even though I can't spin out a Wilton rose with my eyes close I learned the steps that go into making one.;)

I looked up "New Years Eve Cake" on google images and I found a picture of a cake with a clock in it and I loved it.

I tasted good too!

I adore chocolate but Gabe can't stand it. I really think it's strange. But with this cake we both got what we liked.

I hope that you all have a good Saturday!
Happy New Year!
Abigail

Oh, I love chocolate too and you did a good job decorating the cake. Did you enjoy the cake decorating class? I have wanted to take a cake decorating class but never found the time to do so. By the way, I found your blog through Olivia Coy's blog. If you'd like, drop by my blog. Oh, Footprints in the Sand is my main blog. Thanks for reading this comment.
